This got me thinking. Our society celebrates its 70th anniversary this year but little of its history is recorded in any easily accessible way. Thus the thought came about to begin work on bringing together all the available information on the club and organising it in a manner suitable to post on Wikipedia.
So it begins.
First task is to troll through these records and build up a
framework on which to hang the unwritten memories of members. This will not be
an overnight task and only time will tell how much information is still
available.
Anyway must stop blogging and get back to reading records.
Good luck in your efforts. As a new member cannot offer much in the way of reminisces but perhaps if we could think about a gallery of a few shots to reflect any nights out/trips that might start up some communal assets which could assist future archivists...more than happy for some of my shots to be used or help in collation to a slide show.
ReplyDeleteAlongside the books that were picked up on Monday was a small number of photographs. I plan to include these, assuming we can identify who is in them.
